The ground rules for using Arclog. Plain language, no legalese maze, just clear expectations for everyone.
By creating an account on Arclog, accessing the app, or using any of its features, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use Arclog.
These terms apply to all users of the platform, including those who browse content without an account, registered members, and contributors who post reviews, comments, or other content.
To access most features of Arclog, you need to create an account using an email address or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Arclog is a media tracking and social platform that lets you log your progress across anime, manga, movies, TV shows, and books. You can rate titles, write reviews, post comments, engage with other users, and discover new content.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Arclog at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes in advance.
When you post reviews, comments, ratings, or any other content on Arclog, you retain ownership of your content. However, by posting, you grant Arclog a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use your content within the platform to operate and improve the service. This licence continues for as long as your content remains on the platform and ends when you or we remove it, except where your content has been shared by other users or is reasonably necessary to retain for legal compliance.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. You represent and warrant that your content does not violate any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights, and does not contain unlawful material.
We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these terms, without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.
Sharing comments as images. Arclog includes a feature that lets you generate a shareable PNG image of any comment, including comments posted by other users. By using this feature, you agree to use the resulting image only in lawful, non-harassing, and non-misleading ways. Any deletion, edit, or moderation of the original comment within Arclog will not retroactively alter or remove images that have already been generated and saved. You are responsible for any image you generate, redistribute, or publish, and you must respect the original author's identity and the platform's community guidelines when doing so.
To keep Arclog a safe and welcoming community for all users, the following activities are strictly prohibited:
We enforce these rules at our discretion and may take action ranging from content removal to permanent account bans, depending on the severity and frequency of violations.
The Arclog name, logo, design, interface, and all original code, graphics, and content created by Arclog are the intellectual property of Arclog and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
Arclog grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This licence does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any of Arclog's proprietary materials without explicit written permission.
Media content metadata such as titles, synopses, cover images, and related information displayed on Arclog may be sourced from publicly available databases and third-party APIs. All such content remains the property of its respective owners.
Arclog respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that any content on Arclog infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or applicable copyright laws in your jurisdiction.
Send your DMCA takedown notice to contact.arclog@gmail.com with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Request."
Upon receiving a valid notice, we will review the claim and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content. We will make reasonable efforts to notify the user who posted the content so they may submit a counter-notice if they believe the takedown was issued in error.
Counter-notices: If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address. Your counter-notice must include your contact information, identification of the removed content, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was a mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in India.
Repeat infringers: Arclog reserves the right to terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat copyright infringers.
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use Arclog.
By using Arclog, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and consent to the data practices described in it. This includes the collection of account information, library and usage data, and technical data as outlined in the Privacy Policy.
Arclog uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to maintain your session and cache data for performance. No third-party tracking cookies are used. Arclog is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so the above limitations may not fully apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Arclog and its developers, officers, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent that a claim arises from Arclog's own negligence or breach of these terms. We will provide you with reasonable notice of any such claim and cooperate with you in its defence.
You may delete your account at any time through the app's Settings page. Upon deletion, all your personal data, library entries, reviews, and comments will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms and Conditions, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to other users or the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or at the time of termination, along with the reason.
Upon termination, your right to access Arclog ceases immediately. The following sections shall survive termination: Intellectual Property, DMCA and Copyright Claims, Privacy and Data, Disclaimers and Limitations, Indemnification, Governing Law, and any other provisions which by their nature should survive.
We may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or email at least 14 days before the new terms take effect. The "Effective" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
Your continued use of Arclog after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you should discontinue use and delete your account.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of Arclog shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Arclog regarding your use of the service.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written consent. Arclog may assign or transfer these terms, including to a successor or acquirer in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, without requiring your consent. Any permitted assignment will be binding on successors.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms at any time does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver of a provision must be in writing and signed by Arclog to be effective.
Force Majeure: Arclog shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, server or infrastructure outages, cyberattacks, internet disruptions, government actions, or pandemics. We will make reasonable efforts to resume service as soon as possible.
